NEVCA Health Week: Exploring Solutions, Creating Connections

The global COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented and, in many cases, unforeseen changes to healthcare delivery, connectivity, diagnosis, management, and care. This year marked the first-ever NEVCA Health Week, which offered a tightly-packed week of crisp and curated health care events, fostering in-depth, interactive discussions centered around the technology-driven responses and advancements that are currently addressing urgent needs within the industry — and driving future trends.

Health Week kicked off with Unpitch HEALTH, part of the NEVCA’s near-decade old Unpitch series which connects early-stage founders together with senior investors. (Read the full recap here)

Following Unpitch, were three VC Briefings, covering varied topics — maternity, health care sales cycles and OUD management — as well as a Member Edu session focused on healthcare media strategy. All of the panel discussions concluded with dynamic networking sessions, which offered several great opportunities to engage with other attendees, panelists, co-hosts, and sponsors from the healthcare industry.

While the week provided many varied topics and perspectives, there were some overarching themes that were emphasized throughout the week including, increase in industry attention and innovations as a result of Covid-19, the potential for the convergence of so many different healthcare issues to lead to greater access to care, as well as, high-quality care becoming the norm, and healthcare enterprises beginning to look at healthcare business models differently.

Each of the panels was a huge success in its own right — exploring the hottest healthcare trends; predicting the future of the industry, what changes it might bring, and the resulting implications; and offering attendees a wide spectrum of invaluable insights and perspectives from every corner of the industry.

A huge thank you to all of the Health Week participants, our Health Week sponsors Silicon Valley Bank and V2 Communications, to our event co-hosts Echo Health Ventures, Flare Capital Partners and LRVHealth, to our esteemed panelists and guest speakers, and to AWS for powering Unpitch HEALTH!
