The 2020 NEVY Awards Wins Four Creative Excellence Achievements!
BOSTON, MA — MAY 10, 2021 — The results of four notables creative awards have officially been announced, and Matter Communications (Matter) came out on top of each of them for their work with the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) on the 2020 NEVY Awards (NEVYs)! Matter took the Silver Award for the Muse Creative Awards, the Silver Award for the Communicator Awards, the Gold Award for the NYX Video Awards, and the Platinum Award (the highest achievement) for the Hermes Creative Awards! With thousands of entries from all over the world, these competitions have shown themselves to be some of the leading programs in honoring creative and design excellence.
For eight years, the NEVCA has hosted the annual NEVYs award show as an in-person event, honoring New England’s best entrepreneurs and Venture Capital professionals in tech, healthcare and life sciences. The NEVCA has always had a flair for spectacle, and 2020 was no exception. Given the restrictions of COVID-19, Matter was tasked with executing an entirely virtual NEVY Awards — the NEVCA’s first-ever virtual show. The 2020 theme was “There’s No Place like Home,” invoking the Wizard of Oz. The NEVCA conceptualized a grand virtual show, and the Matter team pulled out all the stops to produce and pull together graphics and animations, nominee and winner videos from 25+ companies, a live broadcast and an event landing page with live social feeds for added engagement. Matter also built a 3D virtual “Oz” environment, complete with the Emerald City and the Yellow Brick Road. Presenters were composited into the environment in real-time via green screen capture.
With nearly 300 live viewers and 700+ page visits, the NEVCA was thrilled with the outcome. From the animated graphics to the brisk scripting to the bloopers, there’s no mistaking it — this was a NEVYs experience, and one that engaged the NEVCA community like never before.
