New England Venture Capital Association Unveils the Winners of the 11th Annual NEVY Awards
The Venture & Start-up Community Honored the Best of New England’s Entrepreneurs and Investors in a Peace and Love-themed Celebration at the House of Blues
BOSTON — December 8, 2023 — Last night, the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA) honored the winners of its 11th annual NEVY Awards, recognizing and celebrating the top innovators, investors and companies in the region. This year’s Peace, Love, NEVYs-themed event honored the entrepreneurs and investors of New England that have emulated the community’s resilience with a collective dedication to innovation, leveraging science and technology for a better tomorrow.
“It was wonderful to bring together friends old and new at this year’s NEVYs to celebrate the incredible innovations that have been made possible even in the face of a challenging year,” said NEVCA Executive Director Ari Glantz. “In a nod to the time period that our theme was dedicated to, we were honored to recognize the revolutionary companies making important change and progress for our region and the world.”
The NEVYs honor both early- and late-stage companies, as well as the venture capitalists who support them, and cover a broad spectrum of the region’s thriving industry clusters. This year’s academies are spread across Technology, Life Science, Healthcare, MedTech, Robotics, and Climate Tech.
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the Technology category are:
- Emerging Tech Company of the Year: Causal
- Hottest Startup: CloudZero
- Tech Company of the Year: Klaviyo
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the Life Science category are:
- Emerging Life Science Company of the Year: ReNAgade Therapeutics
- Patient Impact Award: Sage Therapeutics
- Powerhouse Life Science Company of the Year: Nimbus Therapeutics
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the Healthcare category are:
- Emerging Healthcare Company of the Year: Cartwheel Care
- Powerhouse Healthcare Company of the Year: 1upHealth
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the MedTech category are:
- Emerging MedTech Company of the Year: Instylla Inc.
- Powerhouse MedTech Company of the Year: Conformal Medical, Inc.
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the Robotics category are:
- Emerging Robotics Company of the Year: Guardian Agriculture
- Powerhouse Robotics Company of the Year: Locus Robotics
The winners of the 2023 NEVY Awards in the Climate Tech category are:
- Emerging Climate Tech Company of the Year: VEIR, Inc.
- Powerhouse Climate Tech Company of the Year: Boston Metal
Additionally, Lightmatter was honored with a unique award — Spirit of the NEVYs — to celebrate the company’s engagement with the NEVYs and innovation at large.
